Goat Cheese, Caramelized Onions & Figs with Honey
Ingredients:
- a glug of olive oil - 2 large, white onions, halved and sliced thin - UP CLOSE & PEACHY SALTOPIA Sea Salt to taste - 1/2 cup fresh goat cheese - 8-10 thick slices of artisan bread, such as ciabatta - 8 ripe fresh figs, stemmed and sliced thinly - honey for drizzling Directions: In a pan, heat olive oil over medium. Add sliced onions, and UP CLOSE & PEACHY sea salt to taste. Cook covered, stirring often until onions have softened. It should take about 10 minutes. Lightly toast your thick slices of bread in a toaster until golden brown. Then spread each piece with goat cheese evenly. Add a layer of caramelized onions, thin sliced figs, more UP CLOSE & PEACHY sea salt to taste and finish with a drizzle of honey! This is so sweet, savory and simply delicious! |
