LET'S TAKE A TRIP TO MADAGASCAR, AFRICA...

Madagascar is a huge island off the southeast coast of Africa. It’s officially the world's fourth-largest island, and is about twice the size of the state of Arizona. The people of Madagascar are called “Malagasy.” The Malagasy come from an amazing, culture-filled mix of Malayo-Indonesian and African-Arab ancestry. Madagascar is home to thousands of rare animal species – like lemurs – found nowhere else in the wild world. There are rainforests, beaches and reefs. Near the busy capital, Antananarivo, is Ambohimanga, a hillside complex of royal palaces and burial grounds, as well as the “Avenue of the Baobabs,” a dirt road lined by massive centuries-old trees.

The Baobab is the national tree of Madagascar, Africa.  The Baobab tree is also known as, “The Tree of Life.”  It can provide shelter, clothing, food, and water for inhabitantsof the African savannah regions.  The cork-like bark is fire resistant and is used for making cloth, as well as rope.

The leaves are used as condiments and medicines. The fruit, called "monkey bread" is edible, and full of Vitamin C. The tree can store hundreds of liters of water, which is an adaptation to the harsh drought conditions of its environment. The tree can be tapped in dry periods for water consumption.  Mature trees are usually hollow, providing living space.  Some of these enormous, centuries-old trees have even been turned into bars, wine shops or other tourist attractions.

Madagascar is also well known for Bourbon Vanilla Beans!  These beans are the most superior within the vanilla category.  They are rich with flavor and aromatic qualities, making them the most popular and sought after vanilla bean variety. The flavor is rich, buttery, creamy and overwhelmingly sweet.

Enjoy this beautiful cross fusion sea salt we have created for you: BOURBON VANILLA BEAN.
Try this gorgeous salt in any dish from shellfish to pork, poultry, vegetables as well as desserts.
